Fig Fest 2007--what an event!  With an estimated 1,500 fig lovers in attendance at this year's Fig Fest, the event just keeps growing.  People from various states, counties and cities came to Fresno just to celebrate the fig!  Various food recipe items with fresh and dried figs were featured. Thank you to all participants and Fig Fest attendees for making the day a success.  The contest for favorite Chef Recipe was won by Cracked Pepper Bistro for their BBQ Fig Chicken wings.  Second place went to The Chefs Table (located where else, but Fig Garden Village) for their Marinated Chinese Long Bean and Dried Fig Salad with Toasted Almonds and Olive Vinaigrette.  The third place winner was The Vintage Press in Visalia for their Fig Salad with Arugula and Balsamic Syrup. The fig recipes were voted on by Fig Fest goers.

Three lucky Fig Fest attendees that voted in the recipe contest were chosen at random to receive gift certificates to the winning restaurants.  They were:  Trubee Leslie of Fresno was the winner of a $200 gift card to Cracked Pepper Bistro, Mara Deutsche of Fresno won a $100 gift card to The Chef’s Table Fig Garden Village and a $50 gift card was won by the Buckenberger’s of Clovis to The Vintage Press in Visalia.
